Single Reed Avocado.
We only have a few this year and they have ripened really early! Would not normally pick these until the end of summer. But if you like Reeds - and we KNOW many of you do - then enjoy these nutty, creamy mouthfuls of delicious avocado. These won't last long as most growers don't like to part with them!
WHEN TO EAT ME
Don't squeeze me hard! But you need to know when a Reed avo is ripe as it does not colour like a Hass.
The skin of a Reed avocado stays green when ripe. Reed avocados are ready to eat when the skin yields to gentle pressure but please only use this technique at home once you have purchased your avocado. You can test if Reed is ready to eat by gently pressing the stem on top of the fruit.
